Tonight I have the pleasure of introducing you to an incredibly sweet couple, Luke and Lauren. I know I've said it before, but it was Lauren's original email that made me really want Chandler Rose to be a part of their wedding. I could tell they loved God, love each other, and really loved the people in their lives.
As a lifestyle photographer, I get to do a lot of at-home sessions with family and especially families that have little kids. This is one of the few times we've had the chance to do an at home couples session! I mean, there was a kid involved, but more of the furry variety!
Getting ready is the perfect time to get those genuine pre-wedding shots. The bride and groom are usually at ease because they are surrounded by friends and family. As a photographer, I am able to document the anticipation, excitement, and even some tears. I can walk around the space unnoticed which is perfect for capturing authentic emotions. But sometimes the energy can be ruined by the overall aesthetic.
Once upon a time...many many years ago...another photographer (and super chill couple) was being really nice and let me tag along with him while he shot a wedding. I was fairly uncertain in my ability to control my camera, and the fact that they were trusting me kind of blew my mind. During this wedding, I learned that photographers are also sometimes...
If you know much about me, you probably know that I'm obsessed with old photos. When I was a kid we had this giant Longaberger basket on top of our wardrobe that housed piles of old photos. I would climb to the top of the wardrobe and dig out a handful of photos to look through. When I finished that handful I would climb up and grab more, until the entire contents of the basket were now on our living room floor.
We loved everything about Natalie and Jacob's Southern Indiana wedding! The two planned a perfectly quirky and adorable outdoor wedding at Cedar Ridge just outside of Seymour Indiana. They said "I do" under string lights in the woods, in front of a Teepee, and nailed shut a "first fight" box with love letters and a bottle of wine. The bride wore a two-piece boho wedding gown, a flower crown, and booties. The groom and his guys wore unique floral ties and leather suspenders.
