We love to travel! This weekend we had the opportunity to travel for work and shoot a gorgeous wedding in the Midwest. We road-tripped to Arthur, Illinois which is definitely Amish Country...corn fields, horse drawn buggies, seeing the horizon line for miles and miles, and Amish buffets in every town! Before you ask, the answer is YES. Yes we did eat at a buffet. When in Rome, right?
What is your favorite road trip activity? We are pretty partial to Podcasts and books on audio. One of our favorite geeky podcasts is Radiolab. They are incredible story tellers! One of my dearest old friends is a producer for the show, and I still get excited every time I hear his voice! This time we listened to Amy Poehler's book, "Yes Please." I don't have a review for you yet because we haven't quite finished it. We got pretty side tracked singing to old school Good Charlotte songs. Not that we were huge big Good Charlotte fans, but there something nostalgic about Waldorf Worldwide.
How about hotel life? I'll be honest. I'm probably a bit of a hotel diva. I blame it on my mom. (Thanks a lot, Kathy). I'm all about a nice, clean, stylish room, and the only thing Alex cares about is if there is a complimentary breakfast! It's the first thing he thinks about as soon as he wakes up. This time our hotel had both of those. Score! It was still about 20 minutes from the Wedding venue, but it gave us the time in the car to enjoy those famous Illinois sunsets!
