When I think back on Kaelin and Ian's wedding, the best word I could use to describe it is FUN! As Indiana wedding photographers we are always thrilled to spend the day with a couple that knows how to cut loose and have some fun. I can't even remember a moment of stress or worry. In fact, I remember sitting with Alex (my husband) and Brooklyn (my 2nd shooter) and talking about how relaxed and at ease we felt. While I definitely attribute some of this to a perfectly planned schedule, and an amazing/helpful venue... I will also say that Kaelin and Ian were incredibly laid back. They both have a great sense of humor, so it naturally follows that their wedding party would too! You can't know how refreshing it was hanging out with these folks for the entire day.
The girls got their hair and make up done at Bella Vita salon in New Albany. They relaxed with mimosas and magazines. Check out the awesome customized wine glasses one of Kaelin's co-workers painted for her wedding party! After getting ready, it was time for Kaelin's big reveal! I love the laughter and tears that occurred when Kaelin walked out in her gorgeous wedding gown.
The weather was perfect for a few pre-wedding portraits. The girls and I explored some of the industrial park near their wedding venue, Kye's. The clouds made for some beautifully soft lighting, and the bouquets added a great pop of color.
These boys share a lot of history and have been great friends for a very long time. Ian and his groomsmen were cutting up the entire wedding day. Don't they look sharp in their gray suits and tan shoes?!
Ian and Kaelin did not see each other before the ceremony, so their anticipation had been building all day. A few things that I love in the next few images... First is Ian proudly showing the officiant his cool socks, Second is Kaelin overwhelmed with emotion when she sees her groom, and finally the hilarious quick pose for the camera as they exchange rings!
Ian and Kaelin have always joked with each other by saying "I love you more." Whoever gets the last word wins. So, Kaelin decided to have Ian's ring engraved with those same words, "I love you more." He had seen his ring, tried it on, and had never noticed the engraving she left for him. Finally after the ceremony, Kaelin revealed her secret...that she wins for life!
We want to give an enormous THANK YOU to Kaelin and Ian for sharing your life and your most genuine emotions with us. Congratulations, and we hope you feel those butterflies for years to come. And for the days when the butterflies are no where to be found, you'll have your deeply rooted friendship to lean on.
